New PhD fellow: Mantë Vertelytë

As of November 1, 2015 Mantë Vertelytë is new PhD fellow at the research project "A Study of Experiences and Resistance to Racialization in Denmark (SERR)"

Mante is affiliated as a Ph.D. student in the Department of Culture and Global Studies, at the CoMID research group. As part of the SERR research-group Mante will examine “interracial” friendship formation practices in multicultural schools in Denmark. Within the public emphasis on multicultural education and cultural integrity in public schools, ”interracial” friendships become an interesting analytical angle for understanding aspects of integration, inclusion, multiculturalism and citizenship. Her research draws on anthropological knowledge and research on immigration and integration. Mante holds a MA in Integration and Migration Studies from AAU and a BA in Cultural History and Anthropology from Vilnius University.
