Invitation to ProsPol Conference: Displacing Sex for Sale

The overall aim of ProsPol is to compare and disseminate knowledge about the multiple contexts, features and effects of prostitution policies at the European, national and local levels.

The 3-day conference will mark the end of the EU-funded COST Action IS1209: 'Comparing European Prostitution Policies: Understanding Scales and Cultures of Governance' (ProsPol), a four-year network dedicated to the exploration of the complex organization and regulation of the commercial sex industry.

Keynote speakers: - Scott Cunningham, Associate Professor in Economics at Baylor University, USA. - Kimberly Kay Hoang, Assistant Professor in Sociology at the University of Chicago, USA - May-Len Skilbrei, Professor of Criminology in the Department of Criminology and Sociology at the University of Oslo In addition to the three keynote speakers, the conference programme will include 8 parallel presentation panels with approximately six sessions running at the same time) across the three days, three book launches and an ‘author meets critics’ session and a final roundtable discussion.
